In August 2025, KEDEV AGRI Solutions took another important step toward advancing sustainable agriculture in South Sudan. Through a strategic partnership with the Organization for Food and Agriculture Outreach (OFAO), a nationally recognized non-governmental organization based in Yei, KEDEV supplied thousands of fruit and tree seedlings as well as high-quality vegetable seeds to rural farming communities. This initiative reflects KEDEV's unwavering commitment to supporting farmers, improving household nutrition, and building resilience against the impacts of climate change.
Supplying Quality Seeds for Impact
During this project, KEDEV delivered 4,050 assorted seedlings and several kilograms of carefully selected vegetable seeds. These included fast-growing fruit trees, climate-adapted tree species, and nutrient-rich vegetable varieties. By focusing on both short-term nutritional needs and long-term sustainability, KEDEV ensures that farmers can harvest fresh produce for their households while also establishing resilient orchards and woodlots that will benefit future generations.
Seed quality is at the core of KEDEV's operations. The company's expertise in seed analysis and varietal selection guarantees that every farmer receives planting materials suited to local conditions. This scientific approach, combined with practical field experience, has earned KEDEV a strong reputation for delivering on its promises with a 100% success rate.
Improving Nutrition and Livelihoods
The partnership with OFAO is not only about planting trees and vegetables; it is about transforming lives. Malnutrition and food insecurity remain pressing challenges in rural South Sudan. By introducing improved vegetable varieties rich in vitamins and minerals, KEDEV directly supports the nutritional wellbeing of farming families.
At the same time, the sale of surplus produce offers a sustainable income stream for farmers. With access to reliable seedlings and seeds, rural households can move beyond subsistence farming to generate income, pay school fees, and invest in small-scale businesses. In this way, KEDEV contributes to strengthening local economies and empowering farmers to achieve long-term self-reliance.
Combating Climate Change with Local Solutions
South Sudan's agricultural sector is highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change, including erratic rainfall, flooding, and prolonged dry spells. KEDEV's supply of tree seedlings represents a practical solution to these challenges. Tree planting improves soil fertility, reduces erosion, and provides shade that helps conserve moisture in farmlands.
By promoting agroforestry practices, KEDEV equips farmers with tools to build resilience against unpredictable weather patterns while enhancing biodiversity in farming landscapes. This aligns with KEDEV's broader vision of sustainable agriculture that not only feeds communities but also heals the environment.
Strong Partnerships as the Foundation of Success
Partnerships are central to KEDEV's approach. Over the years, the company has cultivated strong relationships with local organizations, NGOs, and farming cooperatives. The collaboration with OFAO highlights the trust that reputable institutions place in KEDEV's ability to deliver on time, meet contractual obligations, and achieve measurable impact in the field.
This success is grounded in KEDEV's values of accountability, professionalism, and respect for its partners. Every project is executed with precision and a clear focus on results. As a result, KEDEV has emerged as a reliable agricultural solutions provider in South Sudan and the broader region.
Looking Ahead
The collaboration with OFAO marks just one chapter in KEDEV AGRI Solutions' ongoing journey. With each partnership, KEDEV strengthens its vision of an agricultural sector where farmers have access to quality inputs, communities are nourished with diverse and healthy foods, and the environment is safeguarded for generations to come.
By continuing to innovate in seed technology, expand partnerships, and support smallholder farmers, KEDEV remains committed to driving agricultural transformation in South Sudan. The work carried out in Yei demonstrates that with the right partnerships and expertise, it is possible to build resilient food systems that serve both people and planet.
